On February 27, Metropolitan Epiphaniy received in his residence Metropolitan Serhiy of Donetsk and Mariupol and Archimandrite Khristofor Khrimli, who spent 4 months in a Russian prison.

This was reported by the press service of the OCU.

Archimandrite Khristofor Khrimli, the abbot of the Ascension Church in the village of Kamianka near Mariupol, was illegally arrested by the occupiers in September 2023 and taken to Russia. It was only recently that he was released. At the same time, the Russian authorities deported the cleric of the Donetsk diocese of the OCU to Georgia.

Metropolitan Epiphanius thanked Father Khristofor for his steadfastness and courage in the face of trials, wished him God's help, and spiritual and physical strength, and presented him with a personal cross from the Primate.

Archimandrite Khristofor expressed his gratitude to His Beatitude for his warm words and said that now prayers are needed for the secretary of the Eparchy of Donetsk, Archpriest Andriy Chuy, who was imprisoned with him and unfortunately remains there.
