One of the world's leading experts on genocide, Professor Samuel Totten, is gathering testimonies that could officially recognize Russia's actions towards Ukraine as genocide.

This was shared on his Facebook page by Assistant Professor Nazariy Petriv, as reported by Lviv's Spiritual Greatness.

Samuel Totten previously contributed to uncovering genocides in Rwanda and South Sudan. Currently, he is investigating the genocide orchestrated by Russians in Ukraine.

"In particular, the professor will seek stories from individuals who: experienced occupation, faced threats from occupiers, encountered soldiers returning from the battlefield, or were military or civilians in Russian captivity or were abducted; parents/children who were taken by Russians from Ukraine's territory," wrote Nazariy Petriv.

If you could share your story with him or if among your acquaintances there are those who could tell the world about their own experiences, it would be a unique contribution to the research that will help officially condemn Russia's actions," stated the assistant to the American professor.

They invite sharing testimonies via email at [email protected] or contacting Nazariy Petriv on Facebook.

Samuel Totten is an honorary professor at the University of Arkansas, USA. He is the author of numerous scholarly works and books on genocide. With substantial teaching experience, he worked on the US State Department's project documenting genocide atrocities. He conducted research on genocides in Rwanda and the genocide committed by the Sudanese government in Darfur.

Nazariy Petriv lives and works in Lviv; he is a graduate of UCU, and a doctoral student involved in social projects.
