The holiday will last for 4 days during which celebratory events will be conducted all over Ukraine.

The events will include a special celebratory prayer, which, according to the Alraid press service, will be attended by a considerable number of Muslims of Kyiv and diplomats of foreign states. The prayer will be held in the mosque of the Islamic Public Cultural Center. Similar events will be held in all the mosques of all towns and settlements of Ukraine where there are Muslim communities.

Eid al-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the 12th and the last Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Islamic calendar. The Islamic holiday Eid al Adha (Kurban-bayram), the Feast of Sacrifice, is the culmination of Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca): pilgrims perform the rite of offering sacrifices to remember the sacrifice of Ibrahim (Abraham).

Yurii Bohutskyi and the Collegium of the State Committee of Ukraine on Nationalities and Religions greeted Muslims on the occasion of the feast.
