Vandals damage St Volodymyr monument in Canada
In Winnipeg, Manitoba, unknown persons desecrated the monument to the Holy Prince Volodymyr the Baptist – they broke off and stole his head. Also, the intruders cut off the cross in the hands of St. Volodymyr. Historian Serhiy Shumylo wrote it on Facebook.

Patriarch of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Sviatoslav came up with an initiative to create a state educational program on history and culture for Ukrainians from all over the world.

On May 11, Patriarch Svyatoslav of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church visited schoolchildren of Our Ukrainian School in Philadelphia, PA (USA). The Primate had separate meetings with older high school students, with junior students, and with students of middle school age. The First Hierarch encouraged young Ukrainians to keep alive their language and culture, regardless of where they are.

Attackers of Ukrainian religious procession brought to trial in Poland
The district court in Przemysl sentenced 19 men to imprisonment from 6 to 14 months for interfering with the procession of Greek Catholics and Orthodox, which in June 2016, after the funeral service for Ukrainian soldiers, followed the streets of the city.

UGCC Bishop serves first Liturgy in South Africa
Bishop Joseph (Milian), head of the Pastoral and Migration Department of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, led the Liturgy for Ukrainians in Pretoria. Concelebrating with him was secretary of the PMD Fr. Andriy Gakh. This is the first Divine service served by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic bishop in the territory of the Republic of South Africa. This is reported by the Department of Information of the UGCC.

For the first time ever, Ukrainian becomes Patriarch's deacon in Constantinople
Andriy Krochak, Ukrainian by origin, was ordained as a deacon on November 30, 2018 in the Cathedral of St. George on the Phanar by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew during the festive divine service in honor of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called. The patriarch gave a new name Iakovos to his Ukrainian deacon.

Fire Destroys St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret, New Jersey
