    Evangelical Protestants of Ukraine indicate problems in church-state relations

    The participants of the session of the Council of Evangelical Protestant Churches of Ukraine voiced an opinion that due to the lack of dialogue with the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Relations of Ukraine, problems are arising in the area of church-state relations, including in the legislative area, the Institute for Religious Freedom, Kyiv.

    Ukrainian Evangelical Christians celebrate 90th anniversary of the Pentecostal movement in the former Soviet Union

    A reproduction of the Old Testament Tabernacle (the tent-sanctuary where the Ark of the Covenant containing the Tablets of Stone on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed was preserved) will be exhibited in an open-air museum in Odesa. The Old Testament Tabernacle will be reproduced in Ukraine for the first time as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Pentecostal movement in the former Soviet Union during the Awakening 90 International Jubilee Conference that will held from September 7 to 11 in Odesa.

    Several thousand Pentecostals take part in national youth congress in Zhytomyr region

    The opening ceremony of the 14th national congress of young Ukrainian evangelical Christians took place on July 6, 2011, in the Zhytomyr Oblast. Traditionally, 3 to 6 thousand Christians from all regions of Ukraine gather at the youth forum. This year there are delegates from Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Germany, USA, and other countries.

    The oldest Evangelical Christian Baptist church in the Lviv Oblast, located in the village of Zabirya, celebrated its 90th anniversary. This village is where the Evangelical Baptist movement began in Galicia.

    Unique wedding ceremony in eastern Ukraine

    Twenty-two couples were simultaneously married in central Ukraine. Many of them had been in a civil marriage for many years. Solemn prayer dedicated to this event was held February 27 in the First Baptist Church of Cherkasy. As journalist Julia Dolmatova told RISU, pastor and author of the idea Volodymyr Kuzin performed the ceremony.

    Authorities of Smila in Cherkasy region dispersed Baptist festival

    A statement was submitted to the town council of Smila with a request to permit organization of the Christian festival “God is always near.” The authorities signed the statement but did not allow to hold the event.

    Pastor German Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ukraine: people found their spiritual homeland in Lutheranism

    I would divide my parishioners into three groups. The first one is Ukrainians of German ancestry who live in Kyiv and its surrounding cities such as Irpin, Bucha, Klavdiyeve. Some of them speak German, especially the older generation. The second group includes people from Germany and German-speaking countries who live for a number of years in Kyiv. In general, these are people from the embassy or business sector, and those who married local residents. All of them are also parishioners at our church.
