Jews and Christian Jews Celebrate New Year in Kyiv and Uman

The celebration of the Jewish New Year began in Ukraine. In the center of Kyiv, near the Arch of Friendship of Nations, the Jewish Messianic Community, which is the world’s largest Christian Association, organized a celebration of the Jewish New Year.

The program of the concert included a theatric performance, Jewish songs and dances, a children’s program.
 
Simultaneously a great celebration is going on in Uman of Cherkasy Region. As of 30 September, 24,233 Chasidim from 24 countries arrived in Uman, reported news.liga.net.
 
Of the 24,233 Chasidim, 22,900 came from Israel, 902 from USA, 194 from France, 116 from Canada, 41 from England.
 
According to Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine, Yaakov Dov Bleich, 40 thousand pilgrims are expected to visit Uman in total. According to the rabbi, each year, Uman is visited by 80-100 thousand Chasidim tourists who leave in Ukraine 1-2 billion UAH.
