According to Unian.net, Bryhinets said this in an interview to a journalist on May 26.

Bryhinets noted that he spoke to priests representing the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate at the site and asked them to explain on what basis the trailers were installed. According to the deputy, they explained to him that the trailers were installed for the church needs. When Bryhinets asked them to show him appropriate permits, the priests answered: “There are God’s documents, God’s law.”

According to the deputy, if there are no permits, the authorities are to take steps to ensure that there are no illegally isntalled objects at the site.

Bryhinets noted that representatives of the Main Department of Architecture and Main Department of Protection of Monuments assured him that no permits have been issued regarding any construction near the Tithe Church.

“I think it is the response of the church to the fact that the project of construction of a church has not won in the competition. The church people realized that they have no chances as far as the legal construction is concerned and began to consolidate their work illegally,” stated Bryhinets.

The chief architect of Kyiv, Serhii Tselovalnyk, told journalist that the trailers have been brought for the archeologists who are to work at the foundation of the church.

The archeologists themselves state that they have no relation to the trailers as they have worked there for a few years and were never offered any trailers.
