Patriarch Filaret: Moscow Patriarchate assists terrorists in the Donbas

The Moscow Patriarchate has been helping terrorists in the Donbas. UOC-KP Patriarch Filaret said this yesterday at the briefing, reports Tyzhden magazine.

"The Moscow Patriarchate in this regard is related to Moscow, and the Moscow Patriarchate cannot speak out against its authorities, mainly against Putin and can not openly speak the truth as Kyiv Patriarchate can. Some bishops and priests help, but in general, MP stands apart. And vice versa in the Donbas - UOC priests help terrorists and separatists," said the head of the UOC-KP.

He said that negotiations with the terrorists for hostages "is now useless."

"The negotiations are useless now, because there is no one to negotiate with. How can you negotiate with terrorists? Nobody would negotiate with the terrorists... therefore we are against the negotiations," he said.

The Patriarch stressed that Ukrainians should believe in the victory in the confrontation with the enemy, as Moscow is the aggressor in eastern Ukraine.

"We are not the aggressors, we have not attacked Moscow and Russia, and Russia sent their weapons to Ukraine, Russia invaded our land - Crimea, although Russia was a guarantor of the inviolability of Ukrainian territory ... But the truth is on our side, and God is with us. And if God is with us, victory will be ours," said Patriarch Filaret.
