On February 21, while on a working visit to the Vatican, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church met with Pope Francis.

According to the Department of Information of the UGCC, in his conversation with His Beatitude Svyatoslav, the Holy Father asked about the situation in Ukraine, said the words of support and granted his apostolic blessing to the Ukrainian people.

It should be noted that from February 21 to 24, the Vatican hosts a meeting of the Primates of the Eastern Churches and the heads of the Episcopal Conferences of the Catholic Church on the Protection of Minors in the Church. The meeting takes place on the initiative of Pope Francis and is aimed at raising awareness of the tragedy of committed acts at the level of the entire Catholic Church as well as to expressing care of the Church hierarchy for the victims and increasing transparency in overcoming this crisis.

At the World Summit of the hierarchs of the Catholic Church, the UGCC is represented by His Beatitude Sviatoslav. He has repeatedly pledged support of "zero tolerance" policy adopted by the Catholic Church in order to protect minors. In addition, a number of necessary measures were approved in the Catholic Church, which constitute a program for the protection of minors not only for church communities, but for the entire society.
