Cardinal Husar Not to Participate in Election of Pope

The former head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Cardinal Lubomyr Husar will not participate in the election of the Pope.

“The Pope will resign on February 28. I will turn eighty two days before that. Therefore, fortunately, I will not participate in the election of the Pope. According to the rules, a cardinal who reaches the age of 80 is not obliged to participate in the election of the Pope even though he can be elected,” Radio Freedom quoted him as saying.
