On his Facebook page, the bishop expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and called on everyone to remember that the most important support comes from the Lord, in whom we will overcome amidst the most terrifying trials.

"We experience losses every day. We bid farewell to everyone as if they were our close relatives because the war has made us all close and united in this grief, suffering, and loss," stated the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lviv. He emphasized that he mourns for every one taken by the war, both military and civilian individuals, each and every person.

Bishop Edward described the war as "satanic" because people do not commit such crimes: "People do not kill civilians in their beds while they sleep. They do not take the lives of children and pensioners, nor do they destroy their homes just because they can."

Among those who perished was Anastasiia Seniv, a young active parishioner of the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Lviv, and her mother. Nastia was an activist-volunteer of the "Give Hope" Foundation, as reported by the Lviv Archdiocese.

"Today, we mourn those who died in Lviv. We grieve together with their families. We express our sympathy to those who have lost their homes and property. The war is everywhere. But God is also everywhere. May our prayer to Him be our support. May our lives in these troubled times be filled with His Word and His Sacraments. Only with God will we endure, overcome, and triumph," emphasized the bishop.
