The National Electricity Regulation Commission of Ukraine set the tariffs of gas for the needs of religious organizations equal to retail prices for the general population.

KYIV — According to the government normative changes, the National Electricity Regulation Commission of Ukraine set the tariffs of gas for the needs of religious organizations equal to retail prices for the general population which vary according to the annual scope of use, reports the Institute of Religious Freedomgaz3.jpg. RISU's Ukrainian-language web site posted this story on 22 December, 2009.

The mentioned prices do not apply to the use of gas for production and commercial activity.

The new resolution 1398 of December 10, 2009, of the National Electricity Regulation Commission of Ukraine voids its previous Resolution 1129 of November 1, 2009, which stipulated a reduction of gas price only for the needs of heating of religious buildings.

One should note that the mentioned prices also take into account Value Added Tax, transportation, and distribution tariffs.

The resolution of the commission was to implement the government changes approved by Resolution 1239 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
