On September 23, in the conference hall of the Kyiv Cave Monastery, the 12th International Assumption Readings conference was opened. The theme of this year’s conference is “Testimony: Traditions, Forms, Names.” The event was attended by representatives of the clergy, theologians, philosophers, religious and public figures of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Italy, France and other countries.

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Volodymyr, opened the meeting with an introductory address:

“All people at all times looked for the truth, and it is not accidental, for our Lord Jesus Christ began His preaching with that. The truth is the purpose of life of each Christian. Christians should comprehend the truth and bring that truth to surrounding people. The truth leads one to the knowledge of God and the knowledge of God leads one to the clear way leading to the unification of man with God. I would like to wish the truth seekers and those who have found it to use that gift of God and help people to improve in the truth of God,” reported the website of UOC-MP.
