RESOLUTION of All-Ukrainian Conference «Optimization of Training and Methodological Support and Teaching the Course “Foundations of Christian Ethics” in the Educational Institutions of Ukraine»

We, participants of the conference «Optimization of Training and Methodological Support and Teaching the Course “Foundations of Christian Ethics” in the Educational Institutions of Ukraine» having discussed the status and trends of the introduction of religious education courses, fully supporting and sharing the position of the Ukrainian Prime Minister N. Azarov concerning priority of religious education for younger generation, based on the results of the discussions insist on the need:

• To change the status of the religious education subjects from “elective subject” to “optional subject”

• To ensure in practice the alternative choice of religious education courses (between “Ethics”, “Christian Ethics” and similar);

• To consider providing financial supporting of religious education courses not only at the expense of local budgets, but also through state funding

• To create a collective textbook “Christian pedagogy” for teachers,  which will meet the methodological requirements for teaching the course “Christian Ethics”

• To organize a congress of Christian Ethics teachers

• To create a Confederacy on Christian Ethics for both personal and collective membership in order to coordinate actions and efforts, and disseminate relevant and new information on this topic

• To facilitate and organize master classes on training innovative methods of working with children in teaching the religious education courses

• To provide increasing in proficiency level for Christian Ethics teachers

• To create a program and provide a second higher education and master degree for obtaining a specialty and appropriate document that will provide the right for educational activities for Christian Ethics teachers

We address to the appropriate authorities of Ukraine with request to promote implementation of the written above, that will contribute to the moral upbringing of children, adolescents, youth, and therefore will ensure a stable and worthy development and future of Ukraine.
