Ministering On The Ukrainian War Front (audio)

When Russia invaded Eastern Ukraine three years ago, the country began to face both a geopolitical and spiritual crisis. Two failed ceasefires and three years later, the war continues on both fronts.

As much as diplomatic and military means have been used to try to end the war, military chaplains like Fr. Andriy Zelinsky fight to maintain a sense of humanity and morality in the country. He argues that discourse around the war focuses too heavily on geopolitical interests as opposed to basic human values.

As a priest and public intellectual, Fr. Andriy feels it’s important to spread a message of love and perseverance. During a short trip to Chicago, Fr. Andriy spoke with Worldview before heading back to the war zone where he spends most of his time ministering to Ukrainian soldiers.
