Jehovah’ Witnesses in Ukraine hosted a series of Bible exhibitions

The exhibition was hosted by several cities in Ukraine, including Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. Before each of the exhibitions, printed and video invitations were sent out to deaf and hard-of-hearing people. The Ukraine branch of the Public Information Desk also sent out invitations to the media, educators as well as state officials.

Jehovah’ Witnesses in Ukraine hosted a series of Bible exhibitions from October 7, 2018 to June 7, 2019 to showcase the release of the New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures in Russian Sign Language or RSL. This is a huge achievement in Bible translation efforts.

The exhibition was hosted by several cities in Ukraine, including Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. Before each of the exhibitions, printed and video invitations were sent out to deaf and hard-of-hearing people. The Ukraine branch of the Public Information Desk also sent out invitations to the media, educators as well as state officials.

The first event at Lviv City Deaf Club boasted of a wide range of digital tools which could help the deaf in their Bible study endeavours. Attendees were shown these digital tools and provided explanation and demonstration of how they work. One of these tools is the JW Library Sign Language® app, which can download, organize, and has play Bible and sign language videos from the Jehovah’s Witnesses official website. It allows users to download these sign language videos so that they can watch them on their mobile devices when they are offline.

Apart from these modern technological tools, the exhibitions also had a plethora of historical displays where different formats throughout the centuries of the Bible from scrolls to today’s formats.

Attendees could also see a 1927 edition of the Bible, which was one of the most notable displays at the exhibitions. Now that the Russian Sign Language (RSL) version of the New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures is available, people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, those who struggle with speech and other people who use Russian Sign Language will be able to gain accurate knowledge of the teachings of the Bible.
