    German researchers found a document to facilitate the recognition of Andrey Sheptytsky as Righteous Among the Nations

    Just before the coronavirus quarantine, the Vatican opened the archives of Pius XII, the Pope, for the period from March 2, 1939, to October 9, 1958, that is, during the WWII and the Holocaust. German researchers took advantage of a moment opportunity and, as it now turned out, found a letter from Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky dated August 1942 describing the German regime as "overtly diabolical", which in the conditions of the Nazi occupation was a serious crime — such overt wording exposed Metropolitan Andrey to mortal danger.

    Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Working on New Beatification Processes

    On June 27 the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) honored the blessed martyrs who gave their lives for the faith and the church in the twentieth century. This day in the church calendar has been celebrated for 12 years, ever since John Paul II beatified 27 martyrs during his visit to Lviv.

    Dozens of Ukrainian pilgrims intend to participate in the events connected with the beatification of Pope John Paul II on May 1-2 in the Vatican. The pilgrimage is a chance for participants to learning more about the outstanding pope and experiencing unity with the whole Catholic Church during the beatification.
