The parties to the discussion were President of the UWC Pavlo Grod, First Vice-President Stefan Romanov, Vice-President Andriy Futey, Executive Director of the UWC Maria Kupriyanova and Director of the UWC Representative Office in Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk.

The UWC President thanked the Patriarch and mentioned some of the new initiatives under the COVID-19 Working Group of the UWC, in particular, effective joint care to those who need it most in Ukraine and the world, as well as "virtual ministry" to maintain the spiritual resilience of the community.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of the joint work of the Church, the Diaspora and international humanitarian organizations to effectively respond to the consequences of the pandemic.

"Even the new conditions of quarantine isolation cannot deprive us of a sense of community. We are learning to be together in a new reality. Spiritual leadership continues to be an important foundation for the unity of our communities in the world, and we are grateful to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for its wise guidance and support for sustainability in difficult times. We are building and coordinating new global areas of cooperation in the challenges of our time and the post-quarantine world, " said Pavlo Grod, the UWC President.
