New Orthodox Ukrainian church consecrated in Sacramento

On Sunday, May 20, 2018, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of the Western Eparchy of the UOC of the USA consecrated Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sacramento, CA, UOC in the USA web page informs.

The newly appointed pastor of Holy Trinity mission community, Very Rev. Fr. Myroslav Turchak along with Very Rev. Fr. Heorhiy Tyapko (pastor of Holy Archangel Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Church in San Francisco, CA) and Fr. Myron Korostil (South Bound Brook, NJ), participated in the Rite of Consecration, which included the placing of relics into the holy altar table, and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Subdeacons Ihor Protsak, Mykola Zomchak and Yurii Bobko, seminarians of St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary chanted the responses to the liturgical Divine Services.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Mission was formally established in February of 2017 by a small group of Ukrainian Orthodox immigrants who settled in Sacramento, CA Metropolitan area.  With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Daniel, the mission initially held their services in various homes of parishioners with the first Divine Liturgy celebrated in the newly purchased building for the mission in November of 2017.
