The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) will appeal to the leadership of Russia to release Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov and other political prisoners of the Kremlin. The relevant documents are being drafted by the Secretariat of the AUCCIO on the results of the meeting of representatives of the confessions, which was held on June 12, the Institute of Religious Freedom reports.

Film director Oleg Sentsov has been on a hunger strike in prison for the 30th day in protest of political persecutions of Russia by Ukrainian citizens, including in the illegally annexed Crimea.

Earlier, the Secretariat of the AUCCRO got acquainted with the video presentation of the report “How to release the Kremlin's prisoners?” International Experience and Conclusions for Ukraine,” presented by Euromaidan Press editor-in-chief Alia Shandra.

In addition, representatives of denominations discussed the issues of anti-discrimination expertise of textbooks and educational programs conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science. In order to prevent the fragmentation of the value of a complete family, parentage and motherhood, discrimination of believers and neglect of the role of the church in society, the Council of Churches will send its remarks to the Ministry of Education regarding the ideological unilateralism and bias of the said examination.
