Ros_posolstvo.jpgOn Saturday, October 30, in Kyiv, near the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, prayer vigils of the parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) will be held to protest against the persecutions of the monks of the Sviato-Boholiubskyi Monastery in the Volodymyr Region and its superior, Archimandrite Petro (Kucher).

According to Religion.in.ua, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Russia initiated proceedings in two cases in view of statements about torture of orphan children who are being brought up by the nuns and parishioners of the monastery.

The parish of the monastery has a reputation as a conservative monastery that resists the policy of Patriarch Kirill toward closer relations with the Catholics and rejects the modern forms of missionary activities. The event near the Russian Embassy will be conducted under the motto “The gates of Hell will not overcome the Church!”

According to one of the organizers of the event, a correspondent of the Russian People’s Policy,”Ihor Druz, "the Orthodox believers of Ukraine ask the Russian ambassador to personally assist to stop this dangerous war against the whole Russian Orthodox Church, as Sviato-Boholiubovskyi Monastery is one of its biggest bulwarks.”
