Council of Churches Submits to President Proposals on Legislative Changes in Area of Freedom of Worship

Representatives of denominations formulated the amendments to the bill of the Ministry of Justice aimed to renew the freedom of confession in Ukraine.

The proposals were developed by the Secretariat of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations at its meeting of 31 January on improvement of the Government’s legislative proposals. So reported the Institute for Religious Freedom (IRF).

The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations unanimously supported this approach and the provisions of the bill aimed at renewal of the Law of Ukraine “On Freedom of Worship and Religious Organizations” in the wording which was effective before 12 December, 2012,” read the letters to the President and Minister of Culture from the heads of the denominations.
