Ministry of Justice and AUCCRO discuss closer cooperation

The Ministry of Justice will expand its cooperation with the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations. This was agreed upon by Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko and representatives of the AUCCRO at a meeting held on June 21 on the Parliament's premises.

It was reported by the Institute of Religious Freedom. The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of ensuring the rights of children and families, combating domestic violence and strengthening the moral principles of society.

 

 The expediency of boosting the state family policy by establishing an appropriate ministry or state agency for family affairs was also discussed. For the purpose of systematic interaction between the Ministry of Justice and the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, the framework of constant consultations and participation of the religious community as a component of civil society in shaping the state policy on specified issues will be elaborated.

 

In addition to the hierarchs and representatives of denominations, the chairman of the Inter-faction association “For spirituality, morality, and health of Ukraine”, Pavlo Unguryan and the executive director of the Institute of Religious Freedom, Maxym Vasin, also attended the meeting.
