Mufti Said Ismagilov met with local residents and journalists in Ivano-Frankivsk on April 5 to speak about the culture of Muslims and their involvement in public life.

According to Said Ismagilov, there is much in common between Christians and Muslims. This is especially evident in religious literature.

First of all, the former and the latter have some moral values in common. Mufti believes that this is the best platform for mutual understanding, according to a report of TV-Channel ‘RAI’ cited by Kurs.

“The Muslims are completely adapted to life in a Christian society because Ukraine is a predominantly Christian country. Despite the fact that there are Orthodox or Greek Catholics, Protestants, yet Muslims are integrated into the society. These are not emigrants who have come recently, the vast majority of our Muslims have their roots here,” said Said Ismagilov.

According to him, the Muslims in the territories occupied by Russia in Donbas and Crimea experience hardship. All the educational institutions that were available to Muslims in Ukraine have been closed [there]. This is because the Muslim community will never recognize Russian occupation. Sheikh Said Ismagilov is confident that sooner or later these territories will be returned to Ukraine.
