Patriarch Filaret pays tribute to new heroes at Lychakiv in Lviv

On September 12-14, Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret is on a visit to Lviv.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy, together with Patriarch Filaret and Bishop Dymytry honored this day the newest Heroes in the Lychakiv Cemetery by laying flowers, lighting the lamps and praying at the graves of the deceased Heroes of the ATO. This was reported by “Vysoky Zamok”.

During his stay in Lviv, the Patriarch will visit the Lviv-Sokal Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate and Lviv State University of Life Safety. Also, within the framework of the visit, the annual All-Ukrainian Patriarchal pilgrimage to the place of the miraculous appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Zhovkva will take place.

 Program of the visit:

September 13, Wednesday: 

- 10.00 - Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom on the curative source of Zaglyna (Monastiork village, Zhovkiv district) in the framework of the annual All-Ukrainian Patriarchal pilgrimage to the place of the miraculous appearance of the Blessed Virgin. Departure from the Holy Protection Cathedral (Lviv, 2 Hrushevsky St.) at 07.00.

September 14, Thursday: 

- 10.00 - The patriarch will visit Lviv State University of Life Safety, where he will perform a prayer service for teachers and students on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of this educational institution.
