To avoid litigation, the faithful from Kulykiv decided not to change the religious affiliation of the UOC (MP) community to which they were members, but restored the UOC-KPcommunity, which was registered as early as on April 22, 1993.

The testimony of this is the updated Statute of Kulykiv community of the Protection of Theotokos, registered under Resolution No. 570-od as of 17 September 2015 issued by Head of Ternopil Regional State Administration Stepan Barna.

"It is a practically unanimous transition of the village community. The community of Moscow Patriarchate has a statute, but it hasless than 10 faithful,” tells Kremenetsk dean, Father Volodymyr BugrakUOC MP to RISU journalist Volodymyr Moroz. “They do not show any activity.”

The dean notes that the community in fact first applied to the State Administration for changing religious affiliation of the active UOC (MP)community.

"However, this transition could be challenged  in court," Fr Bugrak explains.

In general, the village, where, as RISU already reported, having more than 300 adult residents is now quiet.

"We found out that there is a Kyiv Patriarchate community registered in 1993 in the village after the fifth or sixth visit to the state administration,” said the UOC MP community activist Ivan Mazurok. “Its statute was restored. All the recent events, Independence, war, sanctification of weapons by Kirill urged our transition... But we were waiting until the priest retires - he was 60, and he resigned. The community moved to the Kyiv Patriarchate at once. Only three or four women opposed, but when they saw that everyone was going, they stopped these talks. No there is a single woman who is not going to church.”
