Patriarch Filaret to arrive in Lviv
Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate is going to visit Lviv on September 11, the Kyiv Patriarchate press-center reports.
Patriarch Filaret will be met at the border of Lviv and Rivne regions (Brody district) at 16:00. At 18:00 Patriarch Filaret will visit Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv to pray for the repose of the souls of fallen heroes of the Heavens’ Hundredand the ATO members.
The Primate plans to communicate with the media representatives.
During the visit, on September 12 at 10:00, the rite of great consecration of the church in honor of the Icon of the Holy Virgin “The Queen of Al” and the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. (Lviv, Orlyka1).
18:00 –The All-Night Vigil in the Cathedral of the Protection Veil of the Theotokos (Lviv, Hrushevskoho 2).
On September 13, the feast of the Placing of the Venerable Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos,the All-Ukraine patriarchal pilgrimage to the site of the miraculous appearance of the Theotokos in Zhovkva will be held. The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom will start at 11.00 on the healing springs in Zahlyna settlement (Monastyrok village, Zhovkva district).
The separate pilgrimage groups will be organized in all parishes of the Diocese of Lviv for the believers that are willing to participate in patriarchal liturgy on September 13 and are unable to come on their own. Registration for the trip is available in parish churches and in the Holy Protection Cathedral of Lviv (Hrushevskoho 2).
