New UAOC Primateto be electedat Local Council of 4-5 June
On June 4-5, the5th Local Council of the UAOC is to be held in Kyiv, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the first election of Patriarch Mstislav (Skrypnyck). The main objective is to elect the Primate of the Church and to determine the development area of the church. It was reported by Uaoc.lviv.ua website.
The number of delegates has been determined (their lists have been agreed), as per invitation they will receive the mandate and the right to vote on behalf of their dean.
The Council will begin on June 4 at 9:00 with St. Liturgy in the church of the Holy Apostle Andrew in Kyiv. Following the worship the procession will pass to Instytutska street and will perform a memorial service for the heroes of the Heaven’s Hundred. On05.06.2015enthronement of the Primate of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church will be held at the Church of St Andrew.
At the same time, on the eve of the Council the UAOC hierarchs made a great job of analyzing intra-church state of the dioceses, held several meetings of the Bishops’ Council and discussed crisis issues existing in the Church.
Recently, a working meeting of the Preconciliar Commission was held in Lviv, which shaped the working process of the Council and determined individuals who will be responsible for certain areas.
