As reported by IPN, the Patriarch's Secretary, Archpriest Mikael Botkoveli, the delegation included two high-profile metropolitans of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

“The hierarchs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate will convey to His Holiness the position of the Ecumenical Patriarch on the current church problems in Ukraine,” said Father Mikael.

 

According to the Archpriest, the bishops of the Ecumenical Patriarchate will also take part on June 17 in the Sunday worship of the Patriarch llia II of Georgia.

 

They will leave Georgia on June 18.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Chairman, Andriy Parubiy visited the Patriarch of Georgia. Then he discussed the issue of supporting Ukraine's autocephaly with the President of Georgia, the Parliament Chairman and His Holiness Patriarch Ilia II, because “the support of the Georgian Orthodox Church of Ukrainian autocephaly is very important.”

As reported, in connection with the latest events relating to the Ukrainian Church on June 4, the head of the Department of External Church Relations of the Russian Church, Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) with two assistants came for a one-day visit to the Patriarchy of Georgia. As it was explained by the Patriarchy, the purpose of the visit was to bring across the position of the Russian Church on the recent events relating to the Ukrainian Church.
