On May 21, 2019, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Ukraine Elena Leticia Teresa Mikusinski.

During the meeting, they discussed the activities of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and the situation with the recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the world. The Metropolitan drew attention to the considerable opposition to this process on the part of Moscow, which is part of Russia's hybrid war against our state.

Metropolitan Epifaniy has also noted that despite Russian aggression and attempts on the part of the north-eastern neighbor to sow dissension among Ukrainians, he remains a strong supporter of the exclusively peaceful self-identification of Orthodox Ukrainians in favor of the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In addition, the Primate has noted that it is a just peace that Ukraine needs, not a peace under occupation.

On the same day, Metropolitan Epifaniy met with the leadership of the World Congress of Ukrainians - UWC President Paul Gorod, UWC Vice President Olena Kosharna, and Director of the UWC Representative Office in Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations Archbishop Yevstraty (Zorya) of Chernihiv and Nizhyn.

The parties discussed prospects for further cooperation, as well as the activities of Ukrainians abroad, aimed at bringing across the objective information on Russian military aggression against Ukraine to the world community. They also referred to the support that the World Congress of Ukrainians provided to the formation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and its recognition by other local Orthodox Churches. This was reported by the official website of the OCU.
