Ukraine to receive the Tomos – decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate

The Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate has decided to provide the Tomos of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. At this stage, the process of the provision of the Tomos is ongoing.

Finally, the procedure will be completed after the Orthodox Churches of Ukraine: the UOC-KP, the UAOC and part of the hierarchs of the UOC (MP) will hold the unification council and elect the Primate. Then the new Orthodox Church in Ukraine will enter into full communion with the Ecumenical Orthodox Church.

“Finally, our star will be shining in the constellation of the Orthodox Churches. It was decided to provide autocephaly to Ukraine! This is a great victory of light over the darkness, the God-loving Ukrainian people over Moscow,” Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has recently announced during a briefing.
