A Russian Orthodox TV channel banned in Ukraine for calls to overthrow constitutional order

The National Council on Television and Radio excluded nine Russian TV channels from the list of foreign programs approved for broadcasting on the territory of Ukraine.

As ZN.UA reported, citing the press service of the National Council, the channels “Hunting and fishing” “Psychology 21” and “Child’s smile” were banned, as they illegally broadcast advertising.

Besides, the programs of Orthodox TV company Soyuz contained signs of appeal to toppling the constitutional system and violation of territorial integrity of Ukraine.

In addition, TV Amazing Life, Look TV, Mini Movie, NST, Footschool TV were not on air, and therefore they were also excluded from the list of permitted TV channels. “The National Council has decided to remove from the above list of foreign programs those channels whose content does not meet the requirements of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television and laws of Ukraine. The decision on this issue will take effect one month from the date of its publication,” stated the National Council.
