On August 17-18, Lviv will become the center of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the revival of the UAOC. On the occasion of this event, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine will arrive in the city. This is reported by the Spiritual Greatness of Lviv.

It is expected that about 35 bishops from all dioceses of Ukraine will also attend the festivities.

It is known that on August 19, 1989, Fr Volodymyr Yarema (since 1993, Patriarch of the UAOC Dymytry) proclaimed in the Peter and Paul Church of Lviv the III Revival of the UAOC: the departure of the parish from the Moscow Patriarchate and the beginning of the formation of the ecclesial structure of the UAOC. The parish communicated this information by telegram to the Ecumenical and Moscow Patriarchate, as well as to the Primate of the UAOC in the Diaspora, Metropolitan Mstyslav Skrypnyk.

On August 17-18, 2019, a number of events will be held in Lviv: the solemn Academy at the National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Solomiya Krushelnytska, memorial service at the graves of Patriarch Dymytry and the fighters for the freedom of Ukraine, the all-night vigil in Sts Peter and Paul Church, which became the center of the III revival of the UAOC.

The festive Liturgy, which will be led by the Primate of OCU, will be celebrated in St. Volodymyr Church of the OCU in Lviv-Vynnyky in the co-celebration of the Church's clergymen. The singing chant will be accompanied by three choirs which have been actively working for the development of the Orthodox Church for 30 years.
