The Peresopnytsia Gospel was presented and an exhibition “Kyiv Cave Monastery-Ukraine’s Shrine” was opened in Strasburg.

The Peresopnytsia Gospel was presented and an exhibition “Kyiv Cave Monastery-Ukraine’s Shrine” was opened in Strasburg. So UNIAN was informed by representatives of the National Kyiv Cave Historic and Cultural Reserve.

The exhibition was opened on 7 November, in the hall of the Council of Europe Palace at the presentation of cultural events of UkraПересопницьке-Євангеліє.gifine on occasion of the expiration of the term of Ukraine’s chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

The photo exhibition “Kyiv Cave Monastery-Ukraine’s Shrine” includes photos of the interiors of architectural monuments, landscape views and panoramas of the Kyivan Cave Monastery, which is the pearl of the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian nation and a holy place for the whole Christian world.

A separate section of the exhibition presents holographic copies of the works of the stock collection of the National Kyiv Cave Historic and Cultural Reserve which includes over 70 thousand of museum items.

As part of the presentation of cultural events of Ukraine in Strasburg, the symbol of the independence of Ukraine, on which its presidents take oaths, an outstanding monument of the Old Ukrainian language and art of the 16th c., the Peresopnytsia Gospel was presented.

The opening of the exhibition “Kyiv Cave Monastery-Ukraine’s Shrine” was visited by more than twenty ambassadors and several ministers of foreign relations of various countries.

“At this time, we pray for the sick Metropolitan Volodymyr. On one hand, we are asking for his recovery and, on the other hand, for his strength to endure these pains and suffering.  Let us remember that the Lord is not on ly the Sviour but also the Healer. WE trust that God’s mercy and care envelop our brother in Christ at this time,” said the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Patriarch Sviatoslav with regard to the illness of the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Volodymyr.

According to, the hierarch called Metropolitan Volodymyr a model of true Christian Ukrainian. The head of UGCC mentioned his meeting with Metropolitan Volodymyr last August and said that during the meeting, the metropolitan stressed “the importance of maintaining good relations between the two Churches (UGCC and UOC) and necessity to develop constructive cooperation for the good of the Ukrainian nation where possible.”
