The village is home to several hundred people, but there is no church - believers walk two kilometers to neighboring Chahov. But Mala Rostivka still has a religious building – the Church of the Intercession. This Cossack church was built in the XVIII century. Now the roof has collapsed, the dome shattered, but the walls are still strong.

“We wanted to build a new one, it would cost less, but still decided to restore the traditional Ukrainian one,” local farmer Mykola Motuzyuk said. “As of today, the foundation has been lifted and leveled, a coating of Euroroofing was made. Currently we are making the floor, it also has to be wooden to preserve the acoustics. In the future, the setting of domes and crosses is planned, the doors and wooden windows for the church have been ordered, there are also important interior works that remain – the murals will be made on about 140 square meters of the church interior. The roof and floor are made of pine, the walls – from solid oak.

“My grandmother lives in a nearby village. Visiting it, we always go through Mala Rostivka,” Victoria says. “This church attracted me since childhood, it seemed somewhat unusual, even mystical. It was a shame that it slowly collapses. I'm really happy that it finally restored. It will be really great if it holds worship, because at least two of its villages – Velyka Rostivka and Mala Rostivka have no churches. In another not renovated church two services have been already held, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church comes from Chahov. On the Feast of the Intercession, over a hundred farmers came to the renovated church, according to the sponsor.
