Poland to Allocate Half A Million Euro to Restore Its Cultural Monuments in Ukraine

In 2012, the Ministry of Culture of Poland is to allocate approximately half a million euro for the restoration of monuments of Polish cultural heritage in Ukraine.

In 2012, the Ministry of Culture of Poland is to allocate approximately half a million euro for the restoration of monuments of Polish cultural heritage in Ukraine, reorted UNIAN-religions with reference to Polskie Radio.

This amount is equal to last year’s budget. With this money, Polish experts restored unique paintings from Zhovkva in Lviv Oblast, the Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, Yacek Miler, said at a session of the Sejm’s Committee for Liaison with Poles Abroad.

As for the restoration work, most of it has been conducted in Lviv. Restoration experts have worked in the Latin and Armenian Cathedrals for a few years. They are also restoring grave stones in the Lychakiv Cemetery.
