    Institute of Church History as part of international project ‘Memory of the Nations’ to present information on UGCC underground

    The Institute of Church History has joined the international project “Memory of the Nations” This Internet portal is creating archives of testimonies of survivors of the Communist and Nazi totalitarian regimes. The institute has posted four interviews on the portal to present various aspects of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the underground.

    One Million Visitors for Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in 2011

    Ukraine’s UNESCO World Heritage Site Kyiv Pechersk Lavra attracted over a million tourists in 2011, reports the press service of the museum. One of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine is popular due to the ancient cultural heritage carried by the buildings and decorations of the national reserve that date back to the beginning of the previous millennium.

    Ukrainian Catholic University to present video materials about collapse of Soviet Union in Kyiv

    On June 21 in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Catholic University will present a web archive of video materials called “The collapse of the Soviet Union: Oral History of Independent Ukraine 1988-1991.” The archive includes 72 interviews with political leaders, dissidents, diplomats, journalists, religious figures, businessmen, scholars, military men – participants or witnesses of arising of the independent Ukraine in 1988-1992.
