Tatar-Polish-Jewish-Ukrainian Youth learning about each other in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic monastery

A youth project – a Tatar-Polish-Jewish-Ukrainian seminar entitled “The Ark” completed in Lviv. Young people of different nationalities had the opportunity to get to know each other and visit Poland.

Its organizers reported this at a press conference held on July 25.

Fifty young people brought together to better understand the history and cultural traditions of different peoples who lived in the territory of Ukraine for ages. Crimean Tatars were participating in this nine-day project for the third time.

Co-founder of NGO “Crimea SOS” Alim Aliyev said: “Today the interfaith youth project “The Ark” comes to an end, having brought together under one roof the Ukrainians, Poles, Jews and Crimean Tatars - 50 people from all over Ukraine. Every day they conducted workshops, discussed, acquainted with each other in cultural, political, historical aspects. Every day a particular nation’s day was held. The participants of the project also visited in Warsaw and had a debate in the Senate. The project was ended with a photo exhibition dedicated to the life of Mustafa Dzhemilev - from childhood and ending the occupation of the Crimea.”

In turn, the youth was welcomed by Consul General of Poland in Lviv Wieslaw Mazur.

“Our intention was that the representatives of four nations could familiarize themselves with different cultures. It is no nationality or religion, but the person is important. Therefore young people gathered to better understand each other,” he said in comments to journalists, Zik reported.
