Now the potential for the second big wave of transition to the OCU from the UOC-MP is being accumulated. And the catalyst for this process will be the introduction of the law on the renaming of Churches.

Speaker of the OCU Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya) told this in an interview to Glavcom.

"This process is undulating. That is, first of all, those communities that have been internally ready for this for many years have made it to the OCU. For them, the external point was important – the Tomos and recognition from the Ecumenical Patriarch. Now the potential for a second wave is accumulating. Now a critical mass is being accumulated," the Archbishop said.

According to him, the impetus for change will be further recognition by local Churches of the OCA and the law on the renaming of Churches.

"Especially after the confessions that have taken place and that will take place on the part of the local Churches. No doubt this will affect the minds of the faithful and clergy who remain in the MP for the time being. I think sooner or later a very big second wave will come. And the catalyst for this wave will be that the law we have already mentioned (on renaming religious communities) will work and these communities will face a choice. They will have to hold a meeting and choose a name, decide on whether they will be Ukrainian or ROCs communities. I think that then a lot of communities will see the light and many parishioners will ask uncomfortable questions to their priests: "Father, you told us for 25 years that we are the Ukrainian Church. And now it turns out that we will be the Russian Church?", said the speaker of the OCU.
