Best Practices: Presentation of Interdenominatinal Projects at Conference of Reconciliation Group

During the second day of the conference “The Art of the Coexistence of Christians: History Lessons and Challenges of Today” held in Yalta on the initiative of the international group Reconciliation, the participants considered practical initiatives uniting Christians of various denominations.

Genia Samborska shared with the participants the experience of activity of the For Human Dignity Ukrainian charitable foundation, which for twenty years has been an interdenominational resource center uniting Christians for the sake of the preservation of lives of unborn children and promotion of moral values.

The head of the Theological Department of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Viktor Zhukovskyi, told the audience about a certificate program "Christian identity and modern social challenges," which is to be launched in Odesa this October and which unites teachers and students of various denominations.  

Ivan Vasiunyk told the participants about the life and ministry of an outstanding martyr of the 20th century, Blessed Omelian Kovch.

Tilo Krauße from Germany presented an initiative Ecumenical Trips (Ökumenischer Reisedienst) which is connected with organization of training trips to regions known for tension between Christians or between religions.

Fr. Ihor Shaban of UGCC briefly presented an exhibition “Chornobyl: People, Places, Solidarity” as an example of painful history uniting denominations and nations.
