Lutherans and Catholics Call On Orthodox Metropolitan Ahafangel to Join Prayer for Unity of Christians

Lutheran and Catholic bishops addressed Metropolitan Ahafangel (Savin) of Odesa and Izmail of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate with an open letter.

The Head of the German Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ukraine, Bishop Uland Schpalinger, the Ordinary of Odesa-Simferopol Eparchy of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, Bishop Bronislav Bernatskyi and the Exarch of the Odesa and Crimea of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Bishop Vasyl (Ivasiuk) addressed Metropolitan Ahafangel (Savin) of Odesa and Izmail of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate with an open letter. They asked him in the letter to give his blessing to the clergy and laity of his eparchy to pray on 22 January “for the unity of the Church which is desired by the Lord and its achievement by the ways pleasing to Himself.”
