The hierarchs demand that appropriate measures be taken to stop the harmful illegal activity of the sect, which has characteristics similar to those of totalitarian sects.

Заява_Догнал.jpgThe Catholic Bishops of Ukraine stress that “the group of Dognal has nothing to do with the Catholic Church as its leaders, former Catholic priests, were punished for gross church crimes by the great excommunication, they were excommunicated from the Church.”

The bishops also called on all Catholics to be careful for “whoever joins therefore, cannot call themselves Catholics,” says the joint statement of the bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine published on October 28 in Lviv.

The bishops warn the state authorities of Ukraine that “the group of Dognal is known for its extreme religious intolerance which leads to interdenominational confrontation and open conflicts. Its activity provokes unrest and division in the Ukrainian society.”

The hierarchs demand that appropriate measures be taken to stop the harmful illegal activity of the sect, which has characteristics similar to those of totalitarian sects.

The document on the pseudo Christian groups was signed on October 26 in Lviv-Briukhovychi, at the joint meeting of the members of the Synod of Bishops of the Kyiv-Halych Supreme Archbishopric of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) and Conference of Bishops of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) in Ukraine.
