Interdenominational Prayer Held in Lviv Catholic University as Part of International Prayer Week

As part of the International Prayer Week of January 18-25, 2010, in the chapel of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, an interdenominational prayer was held on January 21.

exklusiv.gifLVIV — As part of the International Prayer Week of January 18-25, 2010, in the chapel of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, an interdenominational prayer was held on January 21. The prayer was attended by representatives of various churches and Christian communities of Lviv, including the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Armenian Apostolic Church, and the Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith. The event was organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of UCU.

During the public prayer, the participants were addressed by Fr. Dr. Borys Gudziak, the rector of UCU, Fr. Tadeos Gevorgian, the head of the Lviv Cathedral of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God of the Armenian Apostolic Church,  Fr. Dr. Oleksandr Bishko of the Roman Catholic Church, Taras Dmytryk, the head of the Stauropegion Brotherhood of Andrew-the First-Called Apostle of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, and Bishop Vasyl Boiechko of the Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith. All of them stressed the need for unity between Christians and for increasing the understanding of its fundamental basis.
