APPEAL

to the Ukrainian people

of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations

on prevention of coronavirus spread

Following the introduction of quarantine in Ukraine from March 12 to April 3, 2020, and in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations appeals:

  • Sustain awareness and ownership of the measures introduced to prevent the spread of this viral disease, its localization and rapid recovery of those who have already fallen ill;
  • Avoid extremes: do not give in to panic moods, but also do not neglect the danger;
  • Maintain a sense of responsibility both in respect to one's own health and to others. If you have symptoms of SARS or have recently arrived from countries where there is a high level of coronavirus spread, please spend at least two weeks at home (the coronavirus incubation period), avoiding being in public places, and seek medical help;
  • Follow the recommendations of specialists regarding the rules of special hygiene and behavior among groups of people defined for this time;
  • Show love, understanding, tolerance, empathy and help to those who are struggling with the manifestations of the disease.

Each of our Churches and religious organizations, taking into account its own characteristics, is taking and will further take measures related to quarantine.

At this time, we especially urge you to strengthen your prayers to the Almighty with a sulication to stop and overcome this global pandemic. We believe in his help and remain vigilant to comply with preventive measures.
