On December 26, in the patriarchate of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC), a session of the Secretariat of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations was held under the chairmanship of Bishop Volodymyr (Cherpak) of the UAOC, reported the Institute for Religious Freedom (IRF).

The representatives of the denominations considered current issues of church-staterelations. They stated that there is a deterioration in the procedures of issuing entry visas to foreign priests and application thereof by the authorities.

The Secretariat of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) decided to prepare concrete proposals to improve the legal acts in this area and stressed the importance to make more active the special public council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on cooperation with religious organizations. Let us remind that not a single session of the council has been held since its establishment in 2010.

The participants analyzed the results of the activity of AUCCRO in 2011, especially of its addresses and proposals sent to the authorities. The Secretariat plans a number of events for 2012 including several international trips and meetings at the highest level.

THe AUCCRO will also consider a number of questions in the field of education.
