Arson attempt at Mosque in Simferopol

This morning an unidentified man threw a Molotov cocktail at the mosque in the Simferopol district of Luhove.

The imam of the mosque Muhammad Islamov informs that the surveillance cameras shows that at 5 o'clock in the morninga a man in bright clothes with a hood approached the mosque and started throwing Molotov cocktails.

"That person was well prepared. He nimbly lit Molotov cocktails, quickly threw three bottles at the mosque, and ran away," said the imam.

In addition, a Nazi swastika was painted on the fence next to the mosque.

According to the press service of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Crimea, the mosque was not really damaged. Law enforcement officers are working on site to find out the circumstances of the arson.

According to BBC, a few days ago unknown persons stole a surveillance camera from the mosque, but it was quickly replaced.
