First time in 65 years parish holiday celebrated in former Jesuit Church in Lviv

On July 12, in Lviv, the first Liturgy with the participation of the clergy and parishioners was celebrated in the former Jesuit Church, today the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Ihor Sklenar told RISU that attending the liturgy were the Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi, Lviv City Council deputies who last year helped return the shrine to the church, representatives of the Stafanyk Library, and the military, including the leadership of the Sahaidachnyi Military Academy in Lviv.

Father Borys Gudziak delivered a sermon in which he recounted the lives of patron saints of the church and the history of the church.

After the liturgy, Father Stepan Stus, head of the church, expressed hope that the funds of the Stefanyk Library, 2.3 thousand resources that are currently stored in the church, will be moved to a different location and that the church will become a spiritual center for military chaplaincy of the UGCC Lviv Archeparchy.
