    UGCC priest launched a sports flash mob to promote healthy lifestyles

    Fr Ivan Danchevskyy, a priest of the UGCC, initiated a sport flash mob on Facebook. He stated in his network a video workout in the gym and urged other priests and faithful to engage in sports and promote healthy lifestyles.

    Ukrainian soccer player Andriy Shevchenko asks Pope Francis to pray for Ukraine

    The Interreligious Match for Peace took place yesterday at Rome's Olympic Stadium. Pope Francis met with soccer players and organizers of the Interreligious Soccer Match for Peace. The pope thanked the players and highlighted the importance of setting an example for youth.

    An indoor soccer competition among Greek Catholic seminaries for the Cup of the Blessed Martyrs of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church began in Lviv with a prayer and singing of the Ukrainian national anthem.

    Summit in the Caucasus to Be Named after Pope John Paul II

    Lviv mountain climbers from the club Extreme, as part of the program “Heroes of Ukraine on Top of the World,” came up with the idea to next year climb to the top of an unnamed summit in Georgia and call it the John Paul II Spire. The climbing will coincide with the canonization of John Paul II, which is planned for 2014

    UCU Rector sees Euro 2012 as an opportunity for people to feel united

    Rector of UCU Father Borys Gudziak, Ph.D., is happy with the atmosphere that is prevailing in Lviv during Euro 2012. He considers the soccer championship a good opportunity for a positive manifestation of emotions. The priest saw the joy of many with my own eyes when he watched one of the matches in Lviv’s fan zone.
