In his vision of the religous and social life in Ukraine for 2011, the head of the Information and Publishing Department of the Kyivan Patriarchate, Press Secretary of the UOC-KP, Bishop Yevstratii (Zoria), said there will be tests to prove "whose work is made of straw and whose work is made of precious metal." The bishop told this to the portal religion.in.ua for their new year's poll.

According to the bishop, this year’s prospects are favorable for Ukrainians from the spiritual viewpoint. “The society will continue to take the exam in maturity, in the ability to defend its interests and resist manipulation. The churches will take the same exam,” said Bishop Yevstratii.

He expressed hope that the authorities will start a dialogue with other denominations and not only with the Moscow Patriarchate in order to help “reduce tension in the church environment.”

According to the bishop, the logic of life will push toward a dialogue between the authorities and the church, even though “the Moscow Patriarchate will continue to look for people who can be lured from the Kyivan Patriarchate.”

Bishop Yevstratii also noted that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, which will continue inevitable reasoning as to “who will come after,” will take a special exam in maturity to find out “if it is really independent or if its independence is only on paper.” According to him, the logic of this reasoning will define the actions of the Moscow Patriarchate and those who represent all groups of the UOC-MP in Ukraine.
