The Ecumenical Social Week "Trust, Responsibility. Philanthropy" will be held in Lviv from 4 to 10 October. This year, the event will be held for the third time. One of the priority goals of this year's Ecumenical Social Week is to establish its National Council and National network.

One of the priority goals of this year's Ecumenical Social Week is to establish its National Council and National network. The impetus for this was the desire of the participants of the event, who see the need to expand the project to the national level.

The event will include an academic conference "Trust, Responsibility. Philanthropy" where the stress  is to be laid on the activity of philanthropic organizations in Ukraine and development of philanthropy in the world. The parties will discuss questions of interest philanthropy and effective legislation as the basis of the development of civil society.

According to the head of the Secretariat According to the head of the Secretariat of the event, Iryna Kitura, all the events are conducted  "in the spirit of ecumenism" and envisage as wide engagement of the community/public as possible.
"A new society, united and consolidated, philanthropic and not indifferent to the needs of one's neighbour, regardless of the position in the society, religious and national affiliation is an absolutely real model of interaction of the society," noted the coordinator.

The press service of the Week reported to RISU that the event will include also round tables to present the experience of cooperation between the Church and authorities, business and social organizations, master classes for public organizations, representatives of Churches, alternative ways of solving conflicts, partnership in the social initiatives. Also, there will be held a scholarly-practical conference "Christian Ethic as a way of upbringing of youth." In addition, the role of mass media in solving social problems will be discussed and famous Ukrainian journalists will present the competition "Reprters of hope in Ukraine."

The forum is notable also for its exhibition seminars ("Children and icon," "Forgotten World"), concerts, visits and exhibitions of social organizations, the 4th International Festival of family creative work "Berehynia" and the traditional "Day of Trust" for the youth prepared jointly with the ecumenical Christian community Teze.
It is planned that the event will be attended by Kateryna Yushchenko, Head of the Supervisory Council of "Ukraine 3000," Martin Reiser, Head of the Representative Office of the World bank in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus, Mark Hardy, Ph.D., Director of Non-Profit Administrative Programs of the Notre Dam University (USA), Ambassador of France in Ukraine, Jacques Faure and Ambassador of Canada in Ukraine, Daniel Caron.  Bernard Chenevez, Vice-President of the Social Weeks of France.
The event is organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of UCU, Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), Lviv City Council, Lviv Regional Council and administration, National University "Lviv Polytechnic."
